First Movie Quote...

Daddy and I enjoy throwing each other quotes from movies, then trying to guess which they came from.  Miss A, just now, was complaining about how hungry she was, and I told her Daddy (from 101 Dalmatians) "But I'm hungry, Mother, I really am..."  About ten minutes later, Miss A pipes up with "But we are all dalmatians, and I'm hungry.  I could eat a whole elephant!"  (A direct quote from the movie.)  I thought that was pretty clever of her!  She hasn't watched that movie for months and months.

Let's Write in Your Journal

Mama:  Come on!  Let's write in your journal!
Miss A:  I'm goin bike ridin, round and round...
Mama:  What was your favorite thing today?
Miss A:  Hmmm...  Hmmmm Mom...  What was it?
Mama:  Was it Primary, or playing at Hannah's house...
Miss A:  Play beads!
Mama:  Did you play beads today?  I don't remember that...
What did you like about today?
Miss A:  Watching the rain.  It didn't thunder.

Imagination...

It's so fun to see my little Miss A growing up!  The imagination is really kicking in...  The last few days we have cycled between being kittens, rabbits, bats, and "horse-bodies" (the centaurs from the Pastorale in Fantasia).  So we try to lick our arms, wiggle our noses, flap our wings, or buck as the case demands.

Random Experiences...

While playing with cups of water in the sink:  "But this is my drink.  But it is hot.  But I am Grandpa."  (Grandpa drinks coffee...)

The Starfish:  Daddy got a sticky starfish for his birthday, the kind that is thrown against the wall, and crawls down.  Miss A was so freaked out, and yet so fascinated, that Daddy got quite a few good laughs out of it.  Even when it was put up on a shelf, she wouldn't take her eyes off it, and kept saying "It won't move.  It won't move."  Daddy, to torture her, made her pick it up after it fell on the floor, and she very slowly and tentatively crept up, with a trembling finger outstretched, saying "It won't move.  It won't move."

A Surprise:  Miss A delighted the Mama by, on her own, and without being told, picking up all the toys in the play room until it was spotless!  I really laid on the positive reinforcement...

Favorites

MISS A
Favorite Movies:  The Three Caballeros (purchased by the Mama at a thrift store, who now wishes she hadn't.  The title song has a horrible mind staying power...  "We're gay little chappies, all wrapped in serapes...").  And "Perkalees."  (Hercules.)
Favorite Downstairs Activity:  Spinning.  (on some exercise straps that hang from the ceiling.  Miss A can do spins that would make an Olympic figure skater green with envy.)
Favorite Upstairs Activity:  Bathing
Favorite Toy:  Mortimer the Rodent (given to her for Christmas by Grandma.  He runs around and squeaks.)
Favorite Place:  The Dinosaur Museum.  (Science Center, where she goes with Daddy to see the giant moving Tyranosaurus which both fascinates and terrifies her, and the giant Triceratops, which is "taking a little nap."  With some bloody gashes on its side...)

MISS M
Favorite Books:  Smile, Busy Pandas, Animal Noises, and Touch and Feel Kitten
Favorite Downstairs Activity:  Cruising around in her walker.  And putting everything in her mouth.
Favorite Upstairs Activity:  Strafing runs on Miss A while being flown around by Daddy.  And putting everything in her mouth.
Favorite Toy:  Disgusting Little People horse with a hairy mane purchased at a garage sale.
Favorite Place:  Anywhere in the stroller.
