Look at that lady's really BIG.....

Miss A gave her Aunt Morgan and Uncle Ben a funny quote while waiting for her mama to mail some packages. We were in the car and passing the time by 'people watching.' Not more than a few minutes had passed when a rather portly woman exited the building and was walking to her car. No one said a word as we watched the rotund woman saunter to her car, until Miss A piped up, " Look at that lady's really BIG..(here we held our breath waiting for her next words!)....earrings!" I guess the rest of us overlooked those really big earrings!

First Snow!

Mama, first thing in the morning:  "Guess what!  It SNOWED during the night!"
Miss A, running to the window:  "It SNOWED!!!!!  Fpercules, it snowed!!!"  (Hercules is her current imaginary friend.)  Running to the back window:  "It snowed back here too!!!!  Hooray hooray hooray hooray hooray!  Can we eat it?"

Miss M's Favorite Movie

We've been watching a lot of Cars lately...  A lot.  ("Watch.  Cars!")  Which led to the following comments by Miss A:  "We could paint Sally Boy (our silver sedan, named by Miss A some time ago) a red one!  Like Lightning!  That'd be wonderful!!  we could call our car Lightning Sally Boy.  Those two could be together..."

A Visit to the Aquarium

"Yucky the bug!"  -Miss M

"Fish and sharks have tails just like birds!"  -Miss A

Miss A, after visiting the aquarium.

Miss M (and Flopsy), and Master H, worn out

Miss M can identify and name crabs, lobsters, turtles, "fishies" and whales.
Miss A was most impressed with the turtle "testines".  (Yes, intestines.  They had a display with a turtle dissection.)

A Amazing Thing...

Mama:  What did you do today?
Miss A:  Practicing.  (Mama thinks hmmm.  Today we went on a walk and went to storytime...  Practicing?)
Mama:  What did you practice?
Miss A:  Uh, coloring.
Mama:  And what else did we do?
Miss A:  Playing outside, and walking.
Mama:  What was your favorite thing?
Miss A:  The fun rides!  Member, I liked the fun rides and that train.  And I go up the hill and I tipped over!  That is a amazing thing!  (This refers, I'm guessing, to a fun day we had two weeks ago when Grandma and Grandpa took Miss A to an amusement park.  She is quite an adrenaline junkie, and loved the kiddie roller coaster.  She would have loved the big ones, if she wasn't too short to get on...)

Honeysuckles

Miss A calls my loppers and hedge shears "honeysuckles", I suppose, since back in St. Louis, chopping the non-native invasive honeysuckle was mostly what I used them for...  She used to follow me around the fenceline, cheering while I whacked...

First Movie Quote...

Daddy and I enjoy throwing each other quotes from movies, then trying to guess which they came from.  Miss A, just now, was complaining about how hungry she was, and I told her Daddy (from 101 Dalmatians) "But I'm hungry, Mother, I really am..."  About ten minutes later, Miss A pipes up with "But we are all dalmatians, and I'm hungry.  I could eat a whole elephant!"  (A direct quote from the movie.)  I thought that was pretty clever of her!  She hasn't watched that movie for months and months.
