Gender Cause?

Mama, reaching to put something on a high shelf:  Sometimes I wish I were an inch taller.
Miss A:  Then you'd wish you were an inch shorter.
Mama:  Doubtful.
Miss A:  And you'd have three boys instead of three girls.
